Mammadov Nariman

Nariman Mammadov was born in Moscow in 1969. After graduating from higher military-political education and having obtained a master's degree in Law (LL.M.), he founded “Nariman Interservice” in 1993 – which later became “Narimanfilm”. The company specializes in the production of films and videos and in providing advice on operational and legal aspects of film projects in Azerbaijan.

Mammadov has produced 3 feature films – “Thousand” (2001, Moscow), “The Grandson of the Mountains” (2002, Baku) and "Peri Gala" (2007, Baku) – and 4 documentary – “I Remember The Birds” (2002, Moscow), “On Green Pastures” (2006, Baku), "Return to Gobustan" (2007, Baku), "My School" (2008, Baku) – and is currently working on another feature film called “The Precinct”, which was shot in Azerbaijan in 2008.

In September 2005, Mammadov became one of the founders of the “Independent Film-makers Association – South Caucasus” (IFA-SC – www.ifasc.org.ge), and was subsequently elected as Chairman of the Association's Board.
